The Google I/O developer conference was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus outbreak. This year, however, this will not be the case. The annual Google event will be streamed live online from May 18-20, and anyone who wants to watch will be able to do so for free.
“Connect with developers from all over the world at this year's Google I/O virtual event for thoughtful conversations, hands-on training with Google experts, and a first look at our new products,” according to a Google update
The three-day festival, which has a packed schedule, promises to be a lot of fun. One of the most eagerly awaited news for ordinary users is the unveiling of Android 12. According to reports, the latest version of the mobile operating system would include major improvements to the user interface design as well as new functionality, as is customary with the introduction of each revision
The I/O conference will almost certainly include a presentation of hardware developments. Google recently reduced the price of its Pixel Buds 2 wireless earbuds by $50, prompting speculation about the release of a new edition. The Pixel Buds A, a smaller version of the wireless earbuds, may be introduced by the developers. We expect it to be a less expensive choice because it will be missing certain functionality, such as a battery indicator on the case and gesture control support
This year, Google will announce the Pixel 5A 5G smartphone, which will support 5G cellular networks. This device's debut could happen at an I/O conference, but it's more likely to happen in the summer. Little is known about this smartphone, but the Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G processor, manufactured using the 5 nm process technology, is expected to be its hardware foundation
The new features of the voice assistant Google Assistant, which were already listed in the developer blog earlier this year, are also expected to be showcased. The voice assistant will be the focus of the May 19 gathering, while Google will discuss new smart home technologies later that day. It's also likely that the developers will show off some new augmented and virtual reality ventures
