According to Hermen Hulst, co-founder of Guerilla, a couple of new games will be released on the PlayStation 5 soon. He says that Sony is working on at least 25 new PlayStation 5 titles. He also claims that about half of the latest titles are original IP. Hulst told Wired
“There is an enormous amount of variety coming from various regions,” says the author. He goes on to say that there will be a few projects that will be "large, little, different genres." This is clearly good news for PlayStation fans, since it means that the console will soon have more choices. The fact that Sony is involved in the production of these games, however, does not imply that they would be first-party releases
According to Gamesindustry.biz, Sony often assists in the management and development of games created by other PS developers. This is done under the PlayStation Studios banner. Eric Lempel, PlayStation's senior vice president, confirmed this. In a recent interview, he said that games from PlayStation Studios doesn't mean that we outright own the developer, but it simply means that we brought it up as a first-party
This explains how Sony is able to work on such a large number of titles at the same time. Nonetheless, there should be a lot to like about these games for PlayStation fans. We already know about Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Gran Turismo 7, God of War: Ragnarok, and Horizon Forbidden West, which are all intriguing
